Knox Farm State Park April 2008
. . . .to explore the landscape with our senses as well as our brushes . . .
Ancient pines and maples sheltered us as dark clouds rolled in from the west, giving us no cause for concern.
Painting of Knox Farm
by Kathy McDonnell 2007
Situated just outside East Aurora, NY, Knox Farm State Park boasts 633 acres of untouched natural landscape; one hundred acres of woodlands, and four hundred acres of meadows and wetlands, Formerly known as Ess-Kay Farms, sixteen original farm buildings including barns, stables, green houses and the main house, lend an historical ambiance in which to paint.
Clarissa, the llama, strutted by our table followed by a flock of resident sheep. Beautiful in the noon day sun, they spoke of an almost forgotten pastoral tranquility.
